I go by colors - in order - red, orange, yellow, green, blue, violet, brown, black. Then I have shoe boxes, mark the boxes, same as above, and put the fabric in with the main color, red in the red box, etc., I have a box for solid colors - in order - red, orange, etc. My bigger stash - in order - red, orange, etc. Works like a charm. I pack the shoe boxes in a cabinet and each side of the boxes are labeled by color, the boxes are in order by color. That's all there's to it. Then there is the junk box - leftover fabric, I put in gallon plastic ziploc bags, each bag being labeled - in order - red, orange, etc. I just read back what I just said and I sound totally anal, don't I? But it keeps everything in order. And, at my age, I need everything pretty much in order. Edie

borntobefree67, I am fascinated with the red, white and gray quilt in quilt room 3 pic. May I see more of it?

If you were closer, I would gladly help you organize. I just finished helping my good friend get her fabric organized and she is now ready to get started on another quilt.

Beatrice,
I am in Dutchess County which is about an hour and a half north of the City so probably too far but I sure do appreciate the offer. Your space looks awesome!
hugs

Your ruler wall is larger than those in most LQS. I don't have mine altogether because I think I'd embarass myself with the numbers I have.

I will post a picture of my ruler wall. Just completed it not all my rulers are on the wall still finding more every day. That was my first organizational of my studio. Today I am working on the sewing table. Can't sew because the Diamond is under so much. I took 30 minutes looking what my plan of attach should be there is so much it is truly over whelming.
