I've tried out my grandmother's GO. For me, there's positives and negatives. On the plus side, it cuts very accurately, and seems to be good for people who might have trouble using a rotary cutter or scissors for physical reasons. (My grandmother is 85 y.o. with typical aches and pains for her age.) On the negative side, I had more fabric waste than with my usual rotary cutter. Also, you still need to cut the fabric to a size that will fit through the contraption. I'm sure others who have used it more will know more than me. Good luck on what you decide!

I had one. It was just ok-not great for me. I sold it and bought the Big Shot Pro westminster and I like it SOOOO much better. As for wastage, I waste less by not screwing up my cuts with the ruler and rotary cutter. lol

The link that you gave is for the "Baby Go" I have the regular go and love it. The "Baby" has limitations on the size of dies that it can use. Do a search here on the board for Accuquilt Go or Accuquilt Baby. There has been lots of discussions on these 2 items.

Yeah I have the Accuquilt go. Love it. Also if you know others with it you can trade dies for it back and fourth. I know 3 others with one so we share our dies. Those are a bit expensive but they last.

You can get the regular Go! for much less than that nowadays!

I have the regular Go! and it has pros and cons. A lot depends on the reason why you want it. It is absolutely wonderful for people who have difficulty making accurate cuts. I have had no problem with fabric waste using mine; very comparable to using a rotary cutter.

A lot of people like it for accurate strip cuts, but I think I can actually do better using a June Taylor Shape Cut mat.

The things I *really* like the Go! for are (1) cutting triangles -- perfect cuts with all the dog ears cut off, making matching extremely easy and (2) cutting tumbler shapes. I haven't used it yet for cutting hexagons and fusible applique shapes, but I'm sure it is also really good for that.

People rave about cutting out a queen-size quilt in half an hour on the Go! I haven't figured that out yet, unless they are not counting the pre-cutting time you need to rough-cut yardage so it will go through the machine without lots of waste. For me, that is the most time-consuming part of using the Go!

p.s. There have been tons of threads about the Go! in the past. Do a "search" at the top of the board to find them.

I like the shape cut too, and discovered it after I had my strip dies (even though I've owned it for years-go figure). So I quit buying strip dies and will just buy shapes that I don't want to cut myself. I really want the tumbler die.

wow pretty expensive for straight cuts. but for shapes, i think i'd like it.
