Anyone have the Bernina software that paints?

The software uses paint sticks instead of thread. Amazing. Is it brand new or has been around for awhile? I found the painting sotfware in use here:

The new Bernina's are coming out in Oct. They are named the 7 series. I've been reading blogs from dealers at the Bernina University where the new line is being introduced. They all say one thing, the new machines are fantastic in what they can do.

The software that paints is also new.

More info: A new Bernina software does cut work with the sewing machine too. Now a sewing machine can be a craft, die cut, and sewing machine all in one! Good gracious!

Cut work isn't new. I saw a demo of it for cutting quilt shapes over a year ago. Very cool.

The painting also looks cool, I want to know more about the bead setting

I didn't know Bernina had cutwork software already out. But I knew about the beading. I would love to see a demo of all them. Hopfuly the Bernina dealer here will get training. I wonder though with the machine doing all the work how quilts will be judged at national shows? Now it seem the quilter with the most creative way to use all the machine features win.

It is still talent and creativity to make these projects coupled with the knowing how to use all these tools. I wouldn't say it's the machine doing all the work by any means.

Seems to me that is the same as

talent and creativity to make these projects coupled with the knowing how to use all these tools.

Beading too? wow. I am not "into" this idea though - i got an embroidery machine and was just not into it. I need to be personally guiding the fabric.

Also, price tag? this sounds really expensive, though I am sure it makes amazing things.

The Bernina Design Works - which uses paint sticks instead of thread - is brand new. Dealers probably don't even have it yet as it was just introduced this week at Bernina University.

Here is a great video that demos both the paintworks and the crystalworks. The crystals are a lot different than I was expecting- I thought the machine would basically function like a bedazzler, but it just creates a template, that you then need materials to make heat set crystals. So like embroidery stabilizers, I think the supplies will really add up $$$

But still, very very cool. And the precision is so much better than when I do my own stoning.
