Anyone have an Innova sit down machine?

I love making the quilt tops and I've rented time on a local long arm machine. I haven't done much on my home machine for free motion. I was wondering if anyone has an Innova sit down machine and what your thoughts on them are. I'd love to do more free motion, but don't really like my own machine for doing so. I've been just doing straight stitch, stitch in the ditch style....but would like to do loops and such. Ideas?

I have a sweet 16, which I think is fairly close. I love it for most but on a huge quilt it is somewhat hard to work with.

I've heard the head is the same as the longarm. If that's true, you've got the best. I love, lve, love my innova.

The problem as I see it is with a sit down machine, it only does FMQ, no pantograph patterns which I think it the advantage of having a LA.

I have an Innova stand-up and love it. I think in another post, folks mentioned the differences and preferences between a sit-down longarmer and a stand-up longarmer. I am a stand-up one.....I tried a sit-down machine at a quilt show and just could not make my mind and arms work together to do a good design. I'm thinking with practice, I could do it. I love the stand-up because:

you don't have to baste the quilt sandwich together (just load it on the frame)
you can free motion, do ruler work and do pantographs
you don't have to maneuver the weight of the quilt as you quilt

But, as everyone says, you need to test it out and see what works for you. Have fun looking!

I agree Nora, but the cost and the space are big differences. I know you can purchase a sit down machine and upgrade it later...so that would be an option to grow into it. haha
