Anyone have a Juki TL2010Q?
 

Thinking of buying one for machine quilting. Do you use it on a frame? If so, what brand of frame?

One thing I am wondering about is the length of the foot pedal cord, as I prefer machine quilting standing up. Not sure the cord would be long enough, as I think most people use the Juki sitting down.

It's a big investment for me, but I think I would enjoy FMQ so much more! Figure I should be able to do it for under $1,500 for machine and frame.

I have a 98eq juki and I love it.. I also have a creative vision pfaff and I hate it for fmq...it sucks!!! but, my juki a the best. I too am looking in to 2010eq...

I have a TL98Q and used to use it for piecing. When doing that, I liked having it sit on the kitchen counter and standing there. The cord for the foot pedal is plenty long. But now, I have it on the frame and don't take it off. I have a Hinterberg Stretch frame and love it. It's not necessary to have the Stretch for the Juki, but I got it in anticipation of getting a longer machine. Hinterberg makes a GREAT frame. I've moved twice since getting it and it is very easy to set up and take down... all by myself.

I bought my TL2010Q last September and mostly use it for piecing. I have only quilted one quilt on it and that was my first attempt at free motion quilting. I need to change my configuration so that the machine is level with my sewing cabinet. If I can do that then I think quilting will be a lot easier. Some day when I am more experienced I might consider a frame. Beyond that I do enjoy sewing with it.

I have the Tl2010Q. I got it for FMQ, but not on a frame. I really like it. I sold my HQ16 sit down and got the Juki instead. It is the best FM machine I've used, there is lots of throat space and the tension is near perfect. I have had no regrets or problems with it. I remember seeing a website "Kathy Quilts" and she had packages that included this machine and a frame for around $1500. All Brands had the packages also.
