Anyone know of a good list for 2013 BOMs?

Seems like there are always some starting at the beginning of the year. Thanks!

Block of the Month patterns.

I don't do BOM's, but The Quilt Show always has beautiful ones.
I think you just have to be a Basic member (non-paying).
THis year it's by Sue Nickels and Pat Holly - they're insanely talented.

And this one looks like it would be easy to substitute your OWN colorway (iow, not a gazillion different fabrics - but a manageable amount to coordinate yourself).

www.stitcherydickorydock.com is starting a BOM 1-1-13, the price is $7.95 for the year. It is called the Sugar Block Club with Amy Gibson. She is terrific. The free BOM that she did this year on www.craftsy.com is still available to all. I understand that Craftsy will be offering another BOM for 2013, but it has not been revealed yet.

Just got notice yesterday of a new block of the month for next year by Barbara Brackman at her Civil War website: http://civilwarquilts.blogspot.com
2013 Block of the Month: Dixie Diary will start in January

She also recently started a weekly block at http://grandmotherschoice.blogspot.com/
It is at week 16 but will go for the whole year-based on woman's right to vote...so informational at the same time as creating blocks....I am behind on my blocks but hope to catch up after the holidays.

Both are free.

The Cotton Patch Quilt Shoppe in East Tawas, Mi (website- Cottonpatchquiltshoppe) offers many many boms through out the year- they have the most expansive list i've ever come across- seems something for everyone- including embroideries, little projects, big projects, applique, pieced, wool,...the list really does go on & on.
then there are the different sites that offer free ones every year- if you subscribe to The Quilt Pattern Magazine (which is an on-line quilting magazine) they offer a couple free ones every year- so does Jenny Beyer, Carol Doak, Sue Garmin, The quilt show (with Alex Anderson & Ricky Timms) I'm sure there are many more- those are the ones i've participated in in the past

These are aimed at any skill level quilter so would be great to check into. Even though it is civil war and the colors shown will be that theme you can do them in any color scheme and type of fabric and still have great results. Just subscribe-free-to the civil war site and you will automatically get the email when a new block is posted. No chance of forgetting to go to a site at a particular time and date to get a new block.

I think I'm going to make it my 'tradition' to do a Christmas BOM each year. My friend wants to do one like the Merry Merry Snowman by BunnyHill... so I'm keeping my eyes out for some of these starting in 2013 as well.

I never knew all this went on I'm glad I questioned the start.
