Anyone know the name of this quilt pattern
Hi does anyone know the name of this quilt pattern? I think it uses the Pinnapple Star quilt block, but I'm hoping I can find a pattern for yardage and for the border....or does anyone know the border block.... Worst case scenerio I can guess at yardage or use a program to help with yardage if I know the block names.
I couldn't get the image to post, but here is a link to an image.. I will also try to post the image on the forum picture area if I can find it....I haven't visited here in a while. Thanks for any help! Update: I was able to add it to the Album area under Quiltincin Album - it's the only photo under that album. https://i.pinimg.com/564x/79/6a/61/7...380f67ef8f.jpg |
I wonder if it is a Storm at Sea variation?

I think the border block is diamonds. Quilting on a Roll has a paper pattern for it, but may not be the right size:
https://www.quiltingmadeeasy.com/quilting-on-a-roll/ I also think it is a Pineapple Star block: http://www.pieceandquilt.com/2015/04...-block-30.html I'm thinking that the diamonds in the border would actually be a portion of that block -- the blue diamond being the white space between the two star points. Edit: It looks like the original photo is from Russia or some other country that uses a different alphabet (perhaps East European?). This makes me think a pattern is not available and you will have to draft your own. Electric Quilt could help with that. |
The center looks like a 54-40 or fight block, with a square in a square replacing the 4 patch in the center, set on point without sashings. Now—those borders.

In goggle, type in youtube Deb tucker v block and watch her video. Your block look like it is made with them as the sashing around the bigger squares and the smaller square in a square. Hers appears, however, to be on a 1 to 2 ratio and the one in your quilt looks like a 1 to 3 ratio. Great pattern! I hope someone can get you the name.

I found this blogger who says it's a StormAtSea.

I think it is a variation of storm at sea also. Maybe turned on point? Somebody on the board posted one a few years ago, but did not name the block: https://www.quiltingboard.com/main-f...es-t88402.html Also if you put green fairy quilts storm at sea in pinterest search, you can see some beautiful ones that she has quilted. https://www.pinterest.com/search/pin...yped&term_meta[]=green%7Ctyped&term_meta[]=fairy%7Ctyped&term_meta[]=quilts%7Ctyped&term_meta[]=storm%7Ctyped&term_meta[]=at%7Ctyped&term_meta[]=sea%7Ctyped
Finally, etsy has a completed quilt listed called darting minnows:https://www.etsy.com/listing/5211591...home_active_11 |
Darting Minnows?

As summitbay says it is Darting Minnows.
the blocks are on point http://www.quilterscache.com/D/DartingMinnowsBlock.html |
It’s nit storm at see. Just tilt your head to,one side and you can see the block pattern. This is a trick I learned many years ago when a block couldn’t be figured by looking directly at the quult. and the block can have several names. I agree with going to Deb Tucker’s website. I love her rulers and actually have all of the them (should I be ashamed)
