I have a Pfaff Hobby Loc, new [20 years old] in the box.
I have never used a serger before and I got a pair of shorts that need to be hemmed.
Ever since I got this machine [2nd hand of course] I have been wanting to find some one with a serger, that I can watch how theirs works, so I can figure out how mine is suposed to work. I'm usuually good at figuring stuff out, but never having seen or done it before, I wouldn't know if I am doing it wrong or not.
So, if anyone wants to teach me, I'd be greatfull. and can easily be induced into bring my homemade Cinimon & Peacan coffee cake that is so good, you'll be forever ruined for the store bought kind.

I love my serger but not much time to play with it. Once you master the threading part, the rest is play time. I have a serger book I refer to when I need a refresher course. How far from Lake City?

Wish I could help. I'm a sucker for good cinnamon & pecan coffee cake. Now my mouth is watering. You may also try Joans or another quilt shop.

Bummer. Google says 179 miles from Lake city. It looks like a very nice place to be, though.

I hadn't thought about Joanns. Any Joanns is 20 miles away, not that that's an awful thing, unless I only need one piddly thing, or have only one coupon.

I'd really like these shorts soon.

JoAnn's may be able to direct you to someone in your area who gives lessons.

My LQS sells sergers and they give demos. Maybe you can find something close to you.

Look for a quilt guild near you, or check with quilt shop or sewing machine dealer. Maybe one of them can offer you lessons. They might even be able to introduce you to someone willing to help you learn to use your serger.
By the way, those older models with fewer features are much easier to use.

Will check out the videos, and other suggestions. Thanks a bunch!
