I'm trying to decide if I want to by a refurbished Janome 6500 for $600 or just use the Morse my mom is going to give me in July. We live in different states so I cant try hers out but I was wondering if anyone here uses a Morse to quilt their quilts? I think the throadspace is bigger then my Brother CS-6000 but I don't know if it's big enough still....

well i won't have it till the end of july because she's in ohio and I'm in SC so I thought I'd ask here while I wait :)

Oh, gotcha!! I have a Morse and I've quilted on it (rag quilts). But, I don't have a free motion foot for it, so I've never done that. It's not a huge throat, but you could for sure quilt with it.

cool thanks :) I have a machine with a 5" throat right now and it's really tough to quilt on so I'm hoping I can do better on the morse
