My cousin has fallen in love with the attached quilt - I wonder if anyone knows what the pattern
is called and where I can find a free download?
Thanks so much!

Have you tried searching quilters cache for the block? http://www.quilterscache.com/QuiltBlocksGalore.html

I have seen the quilt before, don't know the name, but there's only one block - just turn it different ways to make the design.

Brilliant!

Love the quilt! I have to make some blocks with men's ties and I think this block design would work really well with them. Thanks for posting.

reminds me of the buzzsaw pattern

I have it in a book. I have to start cooking for our clients that are here but I will go through my books tomorrow for you. I believe it's in a Scrap Basket Quilts. Let you know for sure tomorrow.

It is a kaleidoscope in a scrap pattern. I made a kaleidoscope by centring each right angle triangle to make them spin and the other pieces are cut to size. It is an easy block the person making quilt has it looks like joined stripes together and the cut out the right angle triangle without any matching. Then added the rest to complete a block.

Now this looks like a block that has lots of designs waiting for it to be used in, thanks.

dear Dunster
can you tell me please what the dementios would be to make this block,
as some mentioned wanting to make it using men's ties, I think thats a great idea, I too have been looking for a pattern to make a block with men's ties,I appreciate your help.

I am not Dunster, and I don't claim to be, but I would assume that it is probably designed to be used with Jelly Rolls, so that would mean that it is a 6" block - 3 strips finished size of 2" ea = 6" block - four together would be 12" sq.

I think its a variation of Dutchman's puzzle. You can just google that name and come up with lots of free patterns.

Glenda m 09-20-2013 10:49 AM

How about pin wheels?

Glenda m 09-20-2013 10:52 AM

The one I did was #8 on the list from quilterscache.

BeckySt 09-20-2013 07:07 PM

It is called Pinwheel and it is in the book called Scrap Basket Quilts by Kim Brackett

This is what I think it is also. I printed it off a site. I don't remember the name.

Martingale & Co publishes Kim's books. They are available on their website, on Amazon.com, and several other places. This is a very easy quick scrap quilt pattern. If you are looking for a quick download of the pattern, an ebook is available here:
