Anyone tried Dessert Rolls for the Quick "Jelly Roll" 1600 quilts

Just wondering if anyone has tried using Dessert rolls (5" wide strips) for the Jelly roll quick quilt 1600? Has anyone used anything wider than the Jelly roll packs for this quilt. Would love to see photos and how long it took to make and finished sizes. Looking for quick charity quilts for young sewers to make.

It sounds like it would be lovely! It would sew up even faster than a jelly roll race. Go ahead & do one, then show us picts!:)

It will work great but not as strippy looking as using the 2 1/2 strips. I piece a lot of quilt backing using the 1600 method using extra wide fabric pieces.

Wow, I never thought of piecing the back of quilts. Something to think about. Thanks, Teresa
