I'm considering purchasing this machine and before I do so I wanted to get some feedback on the machine. If you have this machine please let me know if you would buy again, how long you have had it, any problems, things I should consider before purchasing?
Any information would be most appreciated!! |
Did you do a search on it using the search feature above? There have been a lot of threads on this machine.
|
I didn't, I'm pretty new to the board and hadn't used that feature. Thanks for the advise, I will do a search.
thanks again! |
It's a handy feature. I use it all the time!

I've had my 6600 for over a year and love it. Yes, I would buy again although if given the choice would probably upgrade to the Horizon. But it's a great machine and does way more than I even know.
|
It doesn't have a freearm though. Just so you know in case you require it.

i love my 6600! would not trade her for any other machine on the market..

I've had mine for nearly 4 years now and never had one problem at all.
It stitches beautifully and seems to love all threads. The Accufeed is wonderful, and if you get the machine it is well worth buying the Accufeed quarter inch (which you normally get the small hole needle plate with as well), STID, and open toe ones too. I bought mine especially to do my own fmq on and have been able to do that better than I ever thought I could. I also got the convertible fmq set of feet, and the blue dot bobbin. The machine sits quite high, so it is much easier to have it "sunk" into a custom table. Some make their own - but I got the 6600 metal table when it was on promo and it makes all the difference. I wouldnt change mine for anything else either! |
I have had mine for 6 years and the only problem was of my doing. I had a habit of jerking the fabric just as the thread cutter was cutting the thread and knocked it out of adjustment. Easy fix. But it is a workhorse and yes, I would buy it again.
