appliance covers?
 

Does anyone know of a good tutorial for a kitchenaid cover? I got a gc for fat quarter shop from my sister and want to order some of the bake sale fabric, but don't know how much to get. I know I want to make appliance covers for a couple of things but also maybe some wall hangings for my kitchen (which will be new-we're buying a new modular this summer).

I made my own pattern but here's one. The blogger specifies that it's for a KA Artisan.
So if your KA is different you might have to adjust the pattern or make your own.
It's not that hard. Just use some cardboard and follow what the blogger did.

Thanks! Sounds like a yard each of the main fabric and lining will work plus a small amount for bias binding. I'd probably use the lining fabric as binding so that would make it pretty easy to figure out.

Sorry cant help, having appliances means you have to cook---- I would rather sew.

Oh my, I been making a lot of these. Be careful to get the size correct. My first set was big even after taking apart my original cover and making pattern. The kitchen aide are different sizes between the models.I been wanting to take pictures,I should go give that a try to show you. I have three sets now for my 4 appliances. I made some from my own quilted fabric,which I think has the nice firmer crispness to it, and you get to chose the color.Then I made one set with the purchased quilted double sided fabric already quilted, so now they reverse when you want to change.On two of the sets I embroidered on both sides, and I flip them around for different views.

One more thought on these appliances covers,I used the bought binding on them.And I did do a good job,wrapping around and sewing. But I think the next time,now listen to me,I don't need another set !! I would enjoy using the method of double binding,and just hand stitching. That is the hardest part. Trying to keep it straight on opposite side. On one set I serged with no binding, and also used piping on one set.

Thanks for the advice. I don't think I'm ready to try piping anytime soon but I am fine with making binding and hand sewing it.
