It over 90 degrees here today and humid...perfect day for some winter stitching! I will add some buttons, etc for embellishment after this is quilted. There will be 6 panels-2 down, 4 to go! My grandson has requested Santa, his sleigh with presents, and reindeer for the next panel.....not having much luck finding an image....any suggestions? Thank you!

both look great

Look for coloring books.

quiltingcandy 06-11-2015 07:38 PM

Look on line for coloring images of Santa there are tons.
Maybe the QB member Katiedid2 can give you some help.

Love what you have done, going to be gorgeous!

Love what you've done so far ... can't wait to see the Christmas skirt finished. Thanks for sharing this with us.

If you type into a Google search your subject and then add line drawing, then go to images you will get lots of designs to use for appliqué. So for Santas, just type "Santa line drawing"

Love it.... :-)

Wonderful job so far, can't wait to see the finished work.

I get the most quilting done in the summer months because we too have horrendous weather. It's supposed to be in the mid 90's for a week. Well, the rest of the summer really.
So I hide out in my sewing room coming out only to do the dreaded cooking.

If looking for inspiration, I turn to Google photos:

Cute! Thank you! I found some reindeer and trees that would work well with this!

mojo11 06-13-2015 04:01 AM

Those are so cute. Can't wait to see all of them. Great job!

Bubbie 06-13-2015 04:40 AM

How about a kids story book or a kids coloring book? But what you have finished is great. Thank you for sharing.

Geri B 06-13-2015 04:43 AM

Fusible appliqué? If so, are you going to sew around edges? Whatever, it's going to be gorgeous! As for me, don't want to think winter, enjoying the warmth and beautiful show nature puts on!!!!

roserips 06-13-2015 05:06 AM

Love your applique so far especially the snow family. You might also check images on line either google or Bing. Sorry to hear of the humidity but you are right great time to hide out and sew.

AlvaStitcher 06-13-2015 05:06 AM

Very cute tree skirt. It will look wonderful surrounding the tree.

pal 06-13-2015 06:27 AM

What a great job you have done so far!! I think I would use 3 or 4 panels, making Santa & his sleigh, the reindeer and all of the night wonders - stars, moon, Milky Way, comets, etc. You could put stars above each scene for continuity.
Just a thought....

calla 06-13-2015 06:48 AM

Just too cute

MargeD 06-13-2015 07:53 AM

You're off to a great start, they look totally awesome. and I agree with Butterfly48 and look for Christmas coloring books and you might even find some "free" art on the internet, but coloring books would be my first choice and you can probably pick them up at a dollar store.

Emma S 06-13-2015 10:55 AM

What you've done so far is amazing. Hope you continue showing it as you progress. Dover Publishers has some line drawings in their coloring books and activity books. You probably could adapt some of them for your use.

This is a free pattern I found on a Northcott website that I can't find now, but I did do a yahoo image search, and hundreds of ideas come up. I used " reindeer applique designs" in the search box. The first picture was the pattern, and the second is my interpretation of it. I used the " liquid stRch,small paintbrush, and an iron " method to do it.

Madame Kelly: Was always drawn to the grace and delicacy of the Northcott design. You did an incredible job of interpreting it.

QUILTNMO 06-13-2015 04:34 PM

looks great so far!!!
