Hey I need your help again. When applying applique what stitch do you use other than the blanket stitch. I am doing a halloween wall hanging "The witch is in" let me know what you think

Are you machine-appliqueing? I usually do a close zig zag with matching threads. If hand-applique, needle-turn would call for invisible stitch. I mostly hand-applique, using 2 strands of embroidery floss in matching colors and a blanket stitch. If machined, I will usually use invisible thread with a satin, or close zig zag.

Most people use a blanket stitch or a satin stitch to hold down the edge of machine applique. If it's a wallhanging, you can also do a regular straight stitch edge about 1/8 in. in from all your pieces for a raw edge applique approach. It's your wallhanging so do whatever stitch that you like. Try out a few on a scrap until you find one you like. If your pieces have some kind of fusible on the back, they just need a little extra stitching to keep the edges from coming up when the piece is washed.

If you have a 6600, #9 is a gret stitch

I like a narrow satin stitch if the piece has interfacing behind it; otherwise, I use a wider satin stitch. Makes me think it will be more secure and less fraying over time.

Hi there & welcome to the quilt board! I love that pattern but I also love the blanket stitch finish.... so...as a 2nd choice for the wall hanging I guess I would use a narrow zig zag.
