I am going to be making my DD a cupcake quilt. When you do fusible applique what type of fusible would you recommend if it is to be washed. I plan on using a blanket stitch on it after it is fused.

I use a light weight soft fusable; but I cannot for the life of me this morning remember the name of it.

I call it visofex. Not sure if that is what it is called in the USA. It usually has paper backing on it.

There are so many different fusables out there!! With so many products, I've always wondered which to use.

Thanks for posing the question - I will be watching the posts! :)

I've been using Heat 'n Bond lite (be sure to use the lite).. for over 10 years now. I buy mine at WalMart

I love Steam-A-Seam 2 Lite. It's re-positionable until it is steam ironed making it easy to use without pins. It makes a very strong bond between the fabrics. It even works with lightweight fabrics like silk.

heat n bond lite, steam a seam lite, wonder under and misty fuse are all fusables that work well are washable and have to be stitched down
