Applique Tip: KFC containers
This may not be new to some, but it is a 'wow' for me so I thought I'd pass it along in case it helps someone else.
I am obsessive about saving those little KFC 1/2-cup serving containers that has the little red lid. I absolutely LOVE them. I also love needle-turn applique. The other day I was looking for something to spray my Spray Starch into so I could starch and iron my edges under prior to stitching. I thought of those container and used it, finished ironing, and snapped on the lid. I discovered when I came back, a couple of days later, that the starch was still usable, not dried out, nor did it smell. Ok...like I said, maybe not a wow moment for some, but I'm pretty frugal so it was for me. LOL |
Great idea! I have little plastic containers with lids that I was going to toss, now I will use them for my applique.

I used a containers that Hillshire sandwich meats come in. I have my fusible cut melons ready to be attached stored in the container.

I love the Talenti gelato containers. They are perfect for storage, not to small and not to big. Oh and the ice cream is a super bonus. LOL
I haven't seen the KFC containers. |
I have a couple of those KFC containers with the red lid, and I use them to store a piece of onion or cut tomato in the fridge. I put them in there upside down so I can see what's inside and use it before it goes bad 'coz I forgot it was there.

I like those little containers, too! Thanks for sharing a good idea!

I had some and gave to granddaughter to keep some jewelry beads separated by colors....neat things they are!

I used to save them but I only have one left. Our KFC quit using them quite awhile back. They went back to the styrofoam containers

What a good idea. Thank you.
