Do any of you applique the pieces either by hand or machine or do you all use the fusible on the back?

I do both. If I hand or machine appliqué I use a small piece of the fusible on back just to hold the appliqué in place. I can use up my scrap fusible pieces doing it that way.

Do you put the small piece on after it is cut out? Do you make it small enough where you can turn the edge of the applique if you hand app.? I just don't like the idea of not sewing the app down and some of the apps have such detailed, sharp points. I guess i'm just old fashioned. :-)
