Does anyone have any information on American Professional Quilting System Ultimate II Longarm with a 12 foot table? I am looking at buying one, but cannot find any information on the Internet. The longarm is made out of airplane material and is very light with no stitch regulator. The woman that has this machine only used it 6 times and has had it for about 5 years and I understand she bought it new. This group is so great about knowing everything about quilting, that I am sure some one know something.

There is probably a yahoo group dedicated to just this machine. I have a HQ16 and belong to that yahoo group and find it an invaluable resource

Hi! I'm an APQS Sales Rep in Nebraska. I'd suggest you go on the website www.apqs.com and look on the forum. You can register and post questions if you like. That model is no longer made, but I know it was a good model, my sister has had one for years. There is a section for selling used machines which might give you a good idea of how much it should cost you. One thing though. If you ever want a stitch regulated model, you won't be able to get one put on it. APQS builds their stitch regulators into the machine while it is being built. Can't be an add on. And yes, they are built with aircraft aluminum. And built one at a time in the USA!! And they now come with an 8 year warranty. Great machines! I've had mine since '04 and am taking it in for it's first "check-up" this month, only because I want to sell it to get a newer model. Feel free to PM me if you have any questions I can answer!

Have something new to add. My husband informed me last night after I put the post on the board that he has purchased the system and we will be picking it up on Saturday. I am so excited and can't wait to start playing.

have you visited the APQS web site? that is where you will find information...also...
buying a long-arm system is AN INVESTMENT-and a fairly expensive one...you should not buy one just because you read something good about it...you need to try out as many long-arm as you can find and make an educated decision. just because i love my machine does not automatically mean it is the machine for you. would you buy a car or a house without looking/trying out many? i hope not
and why has the woman only used the machine a few times in 5 years? does she have problems with it? like tension issues?
it might be important to know why she is selling it. doesn't sound like she's just up-grading, there must be a reason.
before making such a HUGE commitment you really need to do LOTS OF HOMEWORK
good luck

I tried the machine at her house when I went to check it out and also took a quilting friend with me. We were able to play with it and even set it up. The lady is very ill, frail and cannot use it anymore. She is going into the hospital for extensive surgery and wanted the money to help with medical bills. She just wanted someone that enjoys quilting.

I love my Ultimate II. It's a great workhorse. I've been longarm quilting now with her for over 6 years with excellent results. Most people who have the stitch regulator say they don't use it most of the time. I know there are times it could come in handy, but I've done fine without one. I believe there is still a place that puts aftermarket regulators onto the old APQS machines too.

Nona...how do you like this machine now? I'm looking at one now, so I'd be interested in how yours is working out for you.
