it seems to be a problem with the tension or something, i have it on regular stitches and on tension/length 3 or 4 now but it doesnt look like they are suposed to in the front and its all messy on the back so what is wrong with me or my machine..................


Ofcourse it had to happend now when i was gonna catch up on sum sewing and all :cry:

check your bobbin, is it in right???? rethread and if that doesn't help, I don't know, tension is tricky

Take it one step at a time. Check the bobbin holder, is it threaded right, is the bobbin in the right way? Re thread the machine, check that you have the same thread on the machine and on the bobbin. You can use different threads, but do this for now, to try and right the problem first.

Clean out any lint under needle plate, and around the bobbin holder if there is any, and a spot of oil is always useful. Check if there are any stray threads under the needle plate, or where the thread goes between tension discs. Best of luck.

bobbin seems ok and have rethreaded.

Start with rethreading the machine, then take out the bobbin and clean out the bobbin area REALLY good, then put bobbin back in. Also sometimes a new needle may help. If all this doesn't help I don't know what else to suggest , sorry . Hate when that happens it is so frustrating :twisted: Hope you get it fixed

I'm trying to picture your problem, and would just tell you to take the thread off and remove the bobbin--then after a couple of deep breathes (:)) put them in again. This way it's freshly loaded and ready for a test ride on a scrap of material.

i dont have sewing machine oil; can i use anything else? and where exactly am i putting the oil?

I mite go and press so seems in the mean time so u will know i m a bit on and off.

Just take a deep breath.
Start over and rethread top & bobbin.
You shouldn't use anything but sewing machine oil.
Other oils are too heavy and will cause major problems.

Think problem is solved now, i have blown out the dust where i can, changed threads top and bottom and even changed a needle :wink:

Sometime the simple things are what cause the most problems....
Now get sewing :lol:

Have sewn what i needed just now, i gotta take a break quite often because of my arthertus and fibromyalgia.
i need some more meds to sew more but i will do some more cutting cause well what i have sewn now is 3 strips together like in railway.

this is what i aiming the end result to be but its a baby blanket with mostly soft pinks in flannel and cotton.

the strips will be "railway like but it wont be completely railway in pattern cause i m using different shades of pink, not just 3 colours.

Glad it's fixed. I was having problems yesterday with the bobbin thread practically just laying on the surface and the top stitches going through to meet the bobbin thread and it was totally skipping stitches when I went over seams. I re-threaded everything several times, took the bobbin out and back in, kept adjusting the tension more and more. I then replaced the needle with a new one and everything looks fine now.

My Pfaff dealer told me whenever you are having problem with stitches on the bottom you've threaded the machine wrong. I could have been sewing away for an hour or so without any problem but all of a sudden the stitches are wrong. Go figure. I usually get away with using different threads on the top and bottom but whenever I have a problem I rethread using matching threads it seems to solve the stitch problem.

Anyway, do you have a little brush to clean the bobbin area? You should use it everytime you change the bobbin and anytime you've been sewing for a long time, these are things I've learned through mistakes. My motto is, "If you never make mistakes, how can you ever learn anything?", LOL! May in Jersey

Change out the needle... maybe it got bent or has developed a burr on it. I am thinking there might be a thread inside the throat plate. Did you take the throat plate off and look? Oh sorry I didn't read the whole thread... I am glad you got it fixed though. Things like that can put you in such a bad mood for the day.
