I just went and ironed all my little applique pieces to the FRONT of my fabric! Think it's time to go and read a book for a while...lol

frauhahn 04-07-2011 05:57 PM

Ouch!! Tomorrow will be a better day. . .

miss_ticky2 04-07-2011 05:59 PM

Luckily there weren't too many...lol

sueisallaboutquilts 04-07-2011 06:00 PM

Yup, read that book :D
Tomorrow you'll get them right!

gale 04-07-2011 06:00 PM

I've done that and not just once.

jayelee 04-07-2011 06:41 PM

Been there done that

Murphy 04-07-2011 06:47 PM

Not stupid; perhaps too tired (sigh). After a nice break it will all go together well. Enjoy that book or massage, or whatever it takes to make the break worthwhile (smile).

Nothing stupid about it....we all have those days

Unique Creations 04-07-2011 07:43 PM

I just hate when that happens!!

3incollege 04-07-2011 07:45 PM

I've done this many times, just hate when that happens

earthwalker 04-07-2011 08:08 PM

Yep...I often have "nothing is going to plan" days. Tomorrow will be better...cup of tea, a read and a walk round the garden usually helps.

smiles 04-07-2011 08:22 PM

lol, been there, done that & will probably do so again. Welcome to the club.

miss_ticky2 04-07-2011 08:35 PM

lol..thanks everyone. I sat with my book and thought..nope..going to get this done.. and I did, the right way this time...lol

Would it be possible to re-iron it and yank it up while still hot?

I did that on one piece of fabric, didn't work well on the next one I did wrong.

I put the WonderUnder on the right instead of wrong side af a kit fabric -- had to make two wall hangings, one a mirror image of the other!

I'm trying to put this SB Sue behind me & am trying to push forward with it. I framed one block yesterday afternoon & was planning to frame a 2nd but ran out of steam. This morning got up & went to work on it...noticed I'd cut the pieces exactly backward!!

SuzyQ 04-08-2011 04:17 AM

Okay ... really stupid question here ... I know I'm missing something ... but don't you want the applique pieces on the front of the fabric?

Susan

You've created a new design element. It's not a mistake it's new technique that will take the quilting world by storm. They will name it after you and you will be famous!

No? too much? ok, take a nap or break come back at it later once you're refreshed.

eaglebeak1960 04-08-2011 04:22 AM

I think we all have had those days

Sorry...didn't explain...it's the fusible webbing (vlisofix?) that I ironed to the front insted of the back of the fabric I was using for my applique pieces. The stuff with the paper backing that you peel off before you iron your pieces onto your main fabric
