arrow gidget II table
 

Does anyone have one of these? Is it sturdy? I'm thinking about getting this for my embroidery machine, which is now on a card table, that shakes like crazy when the machine is running. I need something that I can put away when not in use, and won't shake so much. Also, I don't want to spend too much money. This is $185. If you have one of these, would appreciate your input. Or, is there another brand you recommend? Thanks in advance for your input.

I have the Arrow Gidget II table. I have my new Phaff Expression 4.2 on it and it is fine. I have not had my embroidery machine on it yet. Are you looking online or in a shop? If a shop, ask them to put an embroidery machine on it and test the sturdiness of it. My guess it that it will be fine.

I have a Gidget table. It is very heavy and sturdy. Mine does not have wheels.

I have a Gidget 1 and it is very sturdy and does not vibrate when embroidering with my Bernina 440. I don't know if it would with a bigger machine or not. If you are strictly looking for a table to embroider on there are cheaper solutions than the Gidget II, which has the recess to lower the machine. For embroidery you might find a used cabinet or table, sturdy yet cheap.

My Gidget II was just delivered this morning. Still in the box. I ordered it on Saturday. Delivered on Tuesday. The insert is not included. Ordered from Sew&VacDirect.com

I have my brother dreamweaver embroidery machine on it for 2 years and my babylock espire on it before that with no issues, very sturdy table and fits in small corners very well.

inserts are usually made by another company so arrive later

I have an embroidery sewing/embroidery combo, but not the Gidget. I have used mine on a 6' folding table and the thing shook like crazy. I took most of the shake out, by placing a 1/2" plywood piece on top of the 6' table. The plywood is 4' x 2'. It's amazing how much this helped and it was only about $15 at one of the Home Depot's or Lowe's. If you want to try this, with what you have now, buy the already cut piece, keep your receipt, and if it doesn't work, take it back for a refund. Much cheaper than the Gidget.

edited to add: Not all embroidery combo machines are the same size and weight. My combo is a Brother Innovis 4000. It weighs about 40 lbs without the embroidery apparatus and hoop, and can sew 1000 stitches a minute. It is similar in size to the Bernina 830 and Brother Elegante.

My husband just bought me a Gidget Arrow table for Mother's Day. I think it the same one you're referring to. It regularly cost $249 at JoAnn's, but it was on sale for $185. I am going to put my Viking Quilt Designer on it. I also have the other one with a smaller insert for another sewing machine, and I can tell you that, yes, they are a little wobbly, but nothing I can't live with. It helps to stabilize them against a wall or butt them against another table. I love that they are portable, that they colapse easily, and I like that the insert drops down level with the bed of the sewing machine. On Amazon you can buy a custom plexi-glass insert that fits around the free arm of your sewing machine making everything level when you sew. It cost $85 I think I remember. I would be hard challenged to find anything thing else this nice in the same price range.
