why did you throw them out?
tea is not acid...the pieces can be hand washed, and ironed flat... I spin mine in a salad spinner til nearly dry and then iron....if the fabric was prewashed they would not even shrink! |

You sound like a great Mom!! :) You can make new blocks but can't take back screaming etc at an accident by her. Still sorry it happened though. |
Try cleaning them. There is a product call WINK stain remover. It took out grape koolaid from my daughter quilt she was maiking.

If the tea permanently stained the unfinished blocks, just give the rest of the blocks a tea bath and they will all match! That tea stained look is very popular you know!!!

No fabric or quilting supplies were involved thank goodness. |
when making my daughters Christmas gift of a quilt I spilled a whole travel mug of hot green tea on her blocks, i just washed them all in cold water and there were no visable stains left behind. i searched and searched those blocks for days and nothing. I even kept one out and still two months later look at it and still cant find it. Just plain old cold water and looks if gentle scrubbing did the trick for me.

Accidents happen to everyone, none of us can claim to have never done anything! I figure when something happens to me, that it just cancels out something I did to someone else. So think of it this way, you're guilty of one less mess than you were before! If I do that I can't get mad, I just go about cleaning up the mess and forget about it. A bit of bad karma cancelled (I don't really believe in karma, but it does express the setiment.)
