I need ideas to use flannel or fleese to assemble single blocks on, would prefere to be able to put away when not using. Do I make any sense?

sounds like you need a design wall ,you can buy those at a .99 cent store a table cover with fannel on one side you can also put on a wall if you have the space or just lay it on top of a table or bed and when done you can roll it up and put away you can take it to your quilt class too, hope this helps you

If you have a closet with bi-fold doors, you can hang a fleece blanket or piece of flannel on those over the door hooks. Just use 3 or 4 skirt hangers, clip the fleece to them and hang them on the hooks.

You can also sew over 2" on the top of the flannel or fleece and put a tension rod in. Hang it in a doorway or in a window.

Are you talking about an entire quilt or just individual blocks to be used later? The back flannel back tablecloth works really well for quilt tops. It can be hung on wall (I use pant hangers) and taken down and rolled up to take to quilt meetings or when not needed. It can also be laid on bed for block placement and then rolled up for storage or to take to sewing room. For only blocks cut about 12" peices from table cloths and put them in unused pizza boxes. They will lay flat and boxes can be marked and stacked for easy storage. No pinning needed since the flannel backing makes blocks cling like magic! Also- I was taught when placing blocks to either lay them flat on bed if making bed quilt or hang them if making wall hanging. Each method give a different visual.. Good luck!!!!!!!!

If it is single blocks, I have a piece of flannel backed tablecloth about 14 X 14 that I use for transporting single blocks. On one end of the 14 X 14 piece of flannel, I sewed a clear piece of 14 X 14 vinyl/plastic. I can flip back the vinyl, place my cut block pieces on the flannel, flip the plastic over the block and roll up the square. You can sew a piece of ribbon on when your sew the vinyl to the square and this allows you to tie the tube up.(or just use an elastic.)I've also seen it done with a piece of flannel tablecloth that you fold in half and place the pieces between the two flannel sides and roll up.
