I'm also making Sandy quilts this weekend. I did a 1600 jelly roll and I'll be assembling old BOMs. I have a few layer cakes, so I'm thinking of just making rows of 10" squares, 5 x 8. If anyone knows of someone willing to quilt them, feel free to PM me. Otherwise I'll just do ditch stitching.

A good quilt that I just made is big half square triangles just arranged in different ways. The easiest way is to have the dark side all facing the same way. You can make them 6 inches square or even 8 or 10 inches square. Just a nice way to practice making HSTs.

10 minute blocks!....if you've never made one, the first few may take a bit longer than 10 minutes, but once you get the hang of it, they really are very fast and easy.....use big squares to start (10" are good) and you will have a top done in a couple hours.

I recently made Easy Breezy for my nephew's graduation quilt. It was super easy. Just 1 1/2 yard for the focucs fabric, then various width strips to form the border. It turned out really cute. I used the full width of the fabric and I think the borders were cut at 6 or 7 inches. I adjusted the pattern to make the most of my fabric.

I would get fleece. A pattern fleece for the front and a plain for the back. Then just grid quilt them together.

Check out Missouri Stars "Big Star" quilt on YouTube. The block works up to 25 1/2" but you can use smaller squares too. I made 1 block just to see how quick it was & wow! It was quick, easy & pretty. I plan to finish the one block as a table topper to give as a Christmas gift

The old faithful "9 Patch" can't be beat for quick and nice. It's just a good, old basic pattern that brings comfort by causing thoughts of way back when. Thank you for helping those in need in your area.

I have spent days and days in the past cutting 6 inch squares out of a lot of clothing and other fabric I had on hand. I can put a quilt together in a few hours using them. I do the Trip Around the World, or put same pattern or colors in diagonal lines across the quilt. These turn out very nice. Then I use a blanket or mattress pad for the batt, and find some fabric I'm not so fond of for the back. After all, someone liked that fabric enough to have it made up to sell. Use glue to hold the binding in place, and I can machine sew very quickly to get it done.
