Attended a Quilt Show
I went to a quilt show this morning. It was a traveling exhibit from New York and had quilts dating back to 1800-1825. Unbelievable!! It is amazing how tiny the stitches were and how close together the different rows were. We saw a log cabin one that was made from satin and velvet. There were several from Amish quilters and the Lancaster County area. The Amish quilts were mostly from Indiana. It amazes me that these women had the frames up in there houses continuously and they would sit and quilt, using these tiny stitches, and tiny rows.

And no rotary cutters, fancy rulers or all the other modern gadgets that I feel as if I can't live without and they were able to create true works of art. So glad you enjoyed the exhibit.

sounds like a wonderful time.

I live in So. Indiana. There are alot of amish here, especially aound Loogootee, Montgomery and Washington. One of the family's runs a quilt shop called Waglers. It's a great shop, and the quilts they have hanging are wonderful. Really friendly people too. Some of their quilts are hanging in the restaurants around there also. Their work is awesome.
