August Virtual Quilt Day - 8/19
A few people sent me messages asking about August Virtual Quilt Day and I don't think I ever set a date last time!! So in the interest of giving people enough time to prepare, we will be having our Virtual Quilt Day on Sunday, 8/19. Same as awlays, no rules ... just fun!! Pick out a few projects you want to work on, then come back to the forums that Sunday and I will make a brand new thread to post in. Tell us your goals and check in through out the day to tell us how you are doing and see how everyone else is doing too!! I will have the post up early that morning EST, but you are welcome to join in any time of the day.
So will you be joining us? Cheers! Rachel |
Oh, good! I will be joining you and everyone else!! I didn't get all the squares for my biscuit quilt done the last time so I will be finishing them up.

I plan to join. I'll work on the BOM quilt I was working on in June! I would really love to finish it.
Oh, good. This Sunday I am driving 60 miles to play bridge. Glad it's next Sunday.
I was actually going to start my very first thread ever and ask if there was a date for this! Perfect timing!!! I've got to pick my projects!
So glad to know the date. I have the material ready to cut out a quilt on the Virtual Quilting Day. I always accomplish so much more on that special day of the month. Thanks, Rachel, for planning a day that motivates me to quilt for a month at a time!
I'll have to wait until after church, but I need to make patchwork aprons for the September TV program

i'll be there too. Hope to finish machine quilting and binding a civil war quilt. Then will cut out and prep some "frog" blocks to applique for a quilt for my DGS.
Plan to be here/there, but not sure what I'll be working on.
Everyone ready for tomorrow??
Rachel |
Yep--have a couple projects I'm going to finish then work on that BOM quilt. See you after church tomorrow! Thanks for doing this, it's a lot of fun each month.
I am going to join you this month. I have to start on my Christmas presents or I will never get them all done. I also have a couple UFO's hanging around that I am determined will be finished. My plan is to start cutting fabric for the Christmas presents but I just know that the sewing machine is going to call my name and tell me to start sewing one of them. So it will be a surprise to me and you to see what actually happens! LOL
Yep! I'm ready! I have changed my plans on what I am going to work on though. I have a quilt that I need to to have finished by Thursday so I will finish that up (unless I get my keester in gear and get it done today!) I will have to go check on MIL dog for a couple of hours in the afternoon so I will see what I get done!
Aww, I will be traveling much of tomorrow and will miss this month's VQD. The good news is that I gifted two quilts this week that were accomplished because of the last few VQDs so I will be with you in spirit. Hope you all get everything done you are planning to do!
I'll try to join! I have a binding I need to do (I might get to that today) and always a project to try to work on! I always try to make Sundays my quilting day anyway.. Now I get to share!
I'm looking forward to it! Hoping to make tomorrow a "finishing" day. 2 quilts to finish binding &labeling, 2 BOM to catch up on, 2 more quilts to make binding for. And if time permits, a backing to make and load a quilt on the long arm.

Is anyone quilting today? I can't quite decide what to work on.
Is there a new, separate thread to post on?
I was wondering if there was a new post, I can't find one. Now that I'm back from church, I'm headed upstairs to start quilting. My goals for the day:
Finish the bindings on 3 quilts (I machine bind and the front is already done). Attach 2 borders to Irish Mist quilt Finish quilt top for Accent on Angles quilt Finish doll quilt |
I don't know what's happened to Rachel, and I hope she doesn't mind. But I went ahead and opened a new thread for the virtual quilting today. It's over here: Come Quilt with me today - 8/19
