Aurifil Bobbin
Well, I've used aurifil thread for a long time, but I just found out they have 60 wt. bobbin thead. Anyone use it & how do you like it?

I buy the huge cones of it and there is a 80 wt Aurifil bobbin thread too.

Whoa! That looks like a honkin big spool! Where do you get yours?

My sewing and quilting machine runs best when I have the same weight thread in the bobbin as what I have on the top. The embroidery machine is a whole other matter!

I bought them at http://www.tristan.bc.ca/ several years ago when there were different colors to choose from. The Tre Stelle Egyptian Cotton thread is the same thread as Aurifil, I can't tell any difference. Tristan is clearing out the Aurifil threads so not many left. I haven't seen the big cones anywhere else to buy.

Thanks Onebyone. I'd forgotten about tristan. I ordered aurifil 50wt from them several years ago and I haven't had to order since!

I got another set of the red 50wt Aurifil for piecing. I like piecing with red except for all white fabric of course. Can't beat the price.

I went ahead and placed an order through fabric.com because of the free shipping at $35. I usually just piece with white or some other neutral. I am trying the aurifil bobbin thread this time.
