With my Pfaff the needle has to be in a certain area, midway, and then it threads easily. Check your machine's booklet. I use the threader all the time, just wish my older machine had it.

Use them all the time on various machines. It could be the little needle that feeds through your needle to pick up your thread is not hitting the right place...make sure your needle is as high as it will go before using the threader. What type machine is it?

I have it on my little Janome Gem and my Pfaff. It is one of the best features on both of them.

If you get use to using it you will be lost without it... Mine was broken for a short time and really missed it.

I have a babylock my works great! At first I was not every time, dealer said thread should be tight, I was making it loose. I would give it a little thread to make sure it had
enough to work. It was not the case.
My old babylock was good but started having trouble and I
took it in the get once a year service and told them, he
put a new auto threader on it and bobbin winder on it.
It works good again. I bought a new machine before last service on old one.

My viking Designer 1 has had to have the needle threader repaired 3 times and I'm only using it for embroidery. It's currently not working again but the dealer left the state. The threaders on my Janomes work great and I use them all the time.

I use my every time on my Brother. I couldn't live without it. My Viking doesn't have one and that sucks to thread...my eyes aren't what they used to be. But I still love my Viking machine.

I have a Brother Machine and sometimes the needle threader works and sometimes it doesn't. or should I say some times I can work it and sometimes I can not.

I know that on my Brother machine, if I don't get the thread in the little hook just above the needle, it will not thread the needle. Ask me how I know this? My needle must also be up as high as it will go. I stop the machine, and hand advance, (toward me only) until the needle won't go any higher. Double check your manual to be sure you are doing right for that machine. I know, I know, but I just recently figured out that I was winding bobbins the wrong way for this machine. We are never too old to learn.
