I wouldn't have a machine that didn't have a threader.
Perhaps you just need to push the needle to the right just a tad with your finger while working with the threader, I found mine is 'off' just a hair and this works great.

I used to use the one on my Janome. I found out the needle had to be all the way up for it to work. I bent it, so I removed it. I have tried the one on my new Brother but it seems a bother (lol, that was a rhyme!)

In any case, a tip I love is that all needles have a groove above the eye. You do not need to be able to see well to insert the thread. Just push it against the needle slightly above the eye, it slides right in. Works great for me!

I have a Janome 6600 and 3 Brother embroidery machines and they all have the automatic threader. Thank goodness, because these old eyes cannot see that little needle eye any more!

I have a Brother and use mine all the time. Works great. I had a singer and never could get the darn thing to work.

If you look very closely there is a little hook on the threader that you have to catch your thread on. Find it and you will have no more trouble.

by the time i get the thread on the thingy right and then pull it thru and straighten the thread i can thread it by hand 4 times. LOL hardly ever use it. but love my 6600 stop/start button.
