Hey everyone! got home a few hours ago from a fabulous weekend quilting retreat! It was held at the Clark Mansion in Taylor Tx (near Austin). There were 6 of us that attended. We had a great time sewing, laughing, sharing, helping each other, and of course eating the most divine food! Our hostess and mansion owner, Sherry, was the greatest! Her home was beautiful and she had us each set up with 6-ft. tables and lamps. Her husband came in Sat. night and played the piano for us while we sewed too! I am posting pics, if anyone is interested in organizing a retreat with her, let me know, I will be happy to fwd. on the info to you! Happy spring! maggie

I went on a quilting retreat this weekend as well, but yours was in a much more beautiful place. Looks like you had great weather and how nice that you had the piano played for you as you sewed - doesn't get much better than that.

What a fantastic place for a quilt retreat, I am so envious. Have only been on one weekend retreat in my 25yrs of quilting and that was probably 20 yrs ago.

how fun..but that poor old house needs some COLOR!!!!

Would love to have a retreat down there though...

the weather was spectacular! In the low 80's & breezy, slept with windows open! Heard birds chirping all day, and crickets at night!

So happy for you. That is a beautiful, old home. I would love to be able to do something like that one day.
