I made one 30+ years ago. It had a pocket that went over the back of the chair, with a long piece baby sat on, then it came up between the child's legs and tied around the back. It did work unless you had a real wiggly child

The one I was looking at went over the back of a chair. Not understanding directions. I will try to post link

I also don't understand this. It seems like the strap should be longer so that it will fit around any chair, and I don't understand where the connector goes or what the flap in front is for when the baby is in the seat. I'm very interested in this; can somebody explain?

I made one very similar to the one emt2004 posted. I took it to restaurants and my grandmother's house. What part of the instructions do you not understand? Mine was from a McCalls pattern I think, and it had decent instructions. Maybe you can pick up one at Joann's or Hancocks for a dollar.

Has anyone ever attempted to make a baby chair sling before? Im a little confused on directions. It's like a portable seat that fits over a chair to secure a child, if there is no high chair available. thank you for your help, Michele
