Baby Lock Jane Threading Question

To thread the BL Jane, the thread comes off the spool holder and then it goes through a bar that has 3 threading holes before the thread goes around the tensioner. I always use the first and the third holes on the bar when sewing.

What is the purpose of the middle hole on the bar and when would I use it?

Those who own a Brother 1500 have the same threading system, I believe. So you might know the answer to my question too.

Hi,
When I'm working with polyester threads, particularly some of the decorative ones or the very fine oneslike Superior's Bottom Line (60 wt. poly), or Wonderfil's Invisifil (100 wt. poly) then I thread the thread through all three holes. It really helps to manage some of the more unruly threads.

Do you have the manual for your machine?

Check page 15 as it has the descriptions and pics of the threading diagrams.

PS: You can download manuals from the BL site in case you don't have one. I keep them on computer for quick reference. Good luck!

I read my manuals every so often.

I use the third hole when I use nylon thread.
