This baby quilt....boy or girl?
1 Attachment(s)
I needed to make 2 baby quilts......one for a boy, one for a girl.
This is the first one. It's been finished for over a month and I still haven't started the other one. Before I start the second, I'd like to know if this one is more appropriate for a boy or girl. What do you think? |
boy, and it is beautiful
I would say boy also.
boy and it is beautiful...
i would use it for either gender as it is so beautiful. however, the nice strong colors are good for a boy.
I think it is both. I would give it to a girl.
It could be either, and it is beautiful!
It's beautiful and I think it would work for both. Babies love bright colors :)

I think either one....love the colors
The quilt is beautiful and could be for either a boy or girl.
I like it for a boy! :)
Beautiful It could go either way, but i am voting for a boys quilt.
What is the pattern called? |
Beautiful quilt. I'd say either, but would probably lean towards a boy. Can't wait to see the girl quilt!
I think it could be for either. Babies like bright colors!
This is a really good example of a gender neutral quilt. There is nothing about it to say boy or girl. It's just a great looking quilt. Make the other one the same!
It is beautiful. Great job!
Boy or girl both. We seem to think of soft colors for a girl and bright ones for a boy but I've been told that the babies are attracted to the bright colors in the quilts I've made for them
With that said I'm having a problem choosing the fabrics for the quilt for my soon to be born first great grandchild. I bought several yards of medium hue 30's repro fabrics and a lovely white on white fabric to us but keep changing my mind about which ones to use to make it look unisex. Need to get it started ASAP as the baby shower is in 2 weeks. Think I'll go with blue, yellow, mint with the WOW for background. When the baby is older I can make a bigger one in colors that suit it more. |
It could be either but if the choice was mine I would say boy.

What is the pattern called I'm sorry. I should have put this information in when I first posted. Pattern is from Clotilde and is called Diamond Patch. Here's a link. http://www.clotilde.com/detail.html?prod_id=10685 |
That is an amazing quilt, as for gender, it really could go to either. Bright colors are always good for little ones.
It's wonderful and definitely would work for both genders. There are some parents that personally prefer not using such gender "specific" colors such as pink and blue. This is also a quilt that will "grow" with the child...I can see a child using this for many, many years as it's also not "babyish".
Oh I love it! Mind if I copy it? Boy. Make the girls in pastels.
boy ,LOVE IT!
dar |
This looks boy-ish to me. This quilt pattern would look great in girly pastels, too. Nice work!
I would say either or.. but more towards the boy....
beautiful! |
Either.
Boys are actually more fragile than girls before birth and as infants. Bright colors are better for all children as they can differentiate them better and are more stimulating. Red especially. My girls hated pink and still do... |
I think boy when I look at this one. It is very nice.
I wish I had seen it before I made my baby quilt, I like your's better. Good for either boy or girl, but since you have to make another, I'd do boy, and a little more girlish for the next one.
I will vote Boy...and I love it!!
Maybe you could ask what the nurseries looks like. For boys, it's usually brights and primaries ... and pastels for girls, but you never know. Maybe that will help you decide.
I think boy. It is very cute! Please besure to post the other one too when you are finnished. I would like to see it also.
Either one babies love bright colors.
I think it would be nice for a boy or a girl. I think that the parents will appreciate the bright colors. Also, as the mom of a boy, I can tell you that I'm pretty much 'blued' out. I can imagine it would be the same for moms with girls and pink. The variety is nice.
Is that a great quilt. I love that layout. Bookmarked
Either = the bright colors are good for both!
either boy or girls has some primary colors
Pretty quilt. I think boy, because of the blue border
