Baby Quilt NOW! :)

My daughter called to tell me that dear friends of theirs became parents unexpectedly today - a 6 month old baby boy was placed with them for adoption. They've been on the list a LONG time, but had no idea their names had arrived at the top of the list.

So Mom - what ya got? I was able to send her phone photos of 4 baby boy quilts I have on hand. She choose the one she wanted. Now just to get it to her before Sunday's baby shower. These are much-loved 30-somethings. The new mom's father is a minister of a rather large church. They will have oodles of baby gifts. But none will be exactly like the lovely little quilt that will hopefully become part of their lives with this new little one. I LOVE THIS! :)

Sidenote: my daughter is herself an adopted child - who arrived unexpectly - we had been told it could be up to 2 years of waiting and 5 weeks later she arrived. I so remember the excitement, the joy, the ... fear! Happy days. :)

In the following link the quilt in the center - with striped minky on the back - will be making its way to this little family.

Congratulations to all!! That is so sweet. I made baby quilts years ahead for when/if I'd need them for my own children as they got married etc. I happily have needed them.

What a great way to welcome a baby. I am glad he is getting a loving home.
I will start a baby quilt for a friend to our oldest Granddaughter. I have to finish the quilt I am starting on first. My policy is: I totally finish one before starting another.

I love to hear stories about so many wonderful children getting homes. it's sad their parents couldn't keep them but it is a blessing for those that can't have children of their own.

Thanks for sharing this lovely story and including the link to the quilts. I bookmarked the pattern a long time ago but have never made it, so you've given me some incentive. Congratulations to the new parents!

I really love that pattern. I made six blankets for Christmas.

Congratulations to all and it sounds like you are one prepared mom that your daughter can count on.

I was actually surprised that I had that many. I had two girl ones she could have chosen from if needed, too. I'm waiting for another grandchild - who is not yet even a gleam in the parents' eyes - and want to be ready for such an announcement! Also like to make small quilts.
