Whatever you do to fix it- make sure to wash it again! The quilt is going to be washed by the recipient, and you want to make sure the issue is really corrected!!

I think you are fortunate it happened while you can still fix it. (I do like the hat idea!) It is a lovely quilt.

I love the idea of a bonnet on the duck as well.

I have used this set before, it is really good about being true to the stitches. Carefully remove the applique, use a different fabric and then redo the duck, if there is any damage removing the duck, make sure to reposition the new applique over the damaged area, it should be fine.

Put a daisy or a flower on the duck where it is "frazald".

Barb, so sorry about your little ducky! I can only imagine how sick you feel. I like the idea of a rain hat to cover his balding pate. :o

My first thought, "Give the duck a hat."

I agree with the hat and a vest, necktie on the chest. Love the quilt

Put a hat on his head.

If this blanket is for a baby girl---I would put bow in the duck's hair and stitch it down.
