Baby quilt w/6"blocks
I'm at a loss. Need your help. What is your favorite 6" block to make? What ever I choose, it gets too big. HELP. Please...lol

My favorite 6" block is a Sunbonnet Sue and Overall Sam. Great baby quilts. I have made several. If I knew the gender of course I would make the quilt gender specific. If I didn't a good blend of both was always a keeper.

A simple pinwheel or nine patch alternating with a cute print fabric always makes a nice baby quilt

Hmmm I thought I understood your question at first, and was going to suggest this tutorial as a fun, easy way to use 6 inch blocks (the video is for charms, but you could easily substitute 6" squares). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Uyd3jbTXRS0&t=1s
But now it occurrs to me that maybe I didn't understand your question after all? Are you looking for help with getting the correct size blocks? |
6" I would recommend an Irish chain. Can never go wrong with the classics.
But there is also a Free Spirit free pattern. Search "window pane quilt" and it was about 6-7th on page. Uses a big block (large print) focus fabric and smaller squares around to support the colors. |
Any attic window blocks can be what you desire to end up with. Also E. Burns Rail Fence is a good one and Warm Wishes is great.

I like the warm wishes layout using a cute baby print for the focus fabric and coordinating solids for the strips. I’ve made a couple with “I Spy” squares for the focus fabric.
