Ok everyone. I just found out two of my nieces are going to have babies in the summer. One is going to have twins. I need to get busy making baby quilts. Does anyone have any patterns they would suggest. Any help would be great.

Warm Wishes is a great one--looks good and it's fast! There's a link to a post called Warm Wishes in here somewhere... I think Shadow posted it.

I am a great advocate of the Disappearing 9 Patch! It is so easy. If you Google it, or do a search on here, you will find lots of examples and instructions.

Izy made a beautiful scrappy one:

DJ made a yummy bright one:

And this is the one I got finished in one week using Amy Butler charm squares:

I vote for Warm Wishes also. You can find it on the McCall's website, under free patterns. I like that you can make any fabric the emphasis...

I just finished this one. It's called Square Dance from Bit's n Pieces. It went together very quickly, and it was fun to do!

I love baby quilts in bright colors. I think they need the stimulation, so I made this one of batik sample fabrics I bought by the pound on eBay. The piece at the end is coordinated fabric for the backing with bubbles that happens to be a perfect match...found at JoAnn's. The quilt pattern is called "Twist and Shout". Kind of goes together like a log cabin.
:?: Now I'd like to bind it by just bringing the backing fabric around to the front and topstitching it. Does anyone know how much wider I should cut the backing. I have about 4 inches all the way around. Lots of batting to be trimmed off .
PS.....it looks like the picture didn't get attached. I guess I don't know how to do it right. Sorry!
