I am so grateful that my credit union offers auto buying services for free to Members. DH & I haven't dealt with a car salesman in years!
Too bad they don't offer sew-ing machine buying services too! What a fun job that would be... |
i hope you're sitting down.
full retail for a Destiny II is around $16,000. i saw one at a show that was "deeply discounted" to $13,000. the Brother Dream Machine 2 is essentially the same machine. different case decorations. maybe some minor differences in software (i can't remember.) same price. (if you weren't sitting down, i'll bet you are now. lol) some dealers don't ask for full retail. some won't take a penny less. i got my Dream Machine 2 on sale for half price. a friend of mine got her Destiny on sale, too, for about half price. i sincerely hope you are fortunate enough to find a dealer for either brand who also puts their machines on sale from time to time. i am absolutely in love with mine and think it's worth every penny i paid. it doesn't do housework, though, so i don't think i'd feel the same at full retail. lol lol lol |
If you can hold out for an expo, often there are "expo prices" that are a good deal.
I recently bought a Bernina Q20 and was able to get "expo pricing" on it even though the expo in question was in another state. But they had a booth out there, so were able to give me the expo price on top of a sale price in the local store, and then I was able to wrangle a few "freebies" thrown in to the deal (assembly, delivery, and a ruler foot!). I didn't get half off (wow!), but I still have not seen the machine selling for that low of a price since then so I'm still very pleased with the deal I got. (And I adore the machine itself, that helps!) |
Most places don't advertise thier prices; any how in the sewing world. I'm selling my Brother Emb combo but didn't know what to charge. I called the head office here that sells, Brother and Babylock. She told me that when they have a trade in they check out what machines are selling for on eBay. That was very interesting to me. I know that the Viking stores contact corporate on the going rate for trade ins. It's like a well guarded secret and you have to search around to find out the prices for new and used. Good luck

Does anyone know if Babylock lists their prices on their site? I am wondering about the Destiny II - even a ballpark figure would be good. I can't find any pricing in their information

No wonder. Who would go if they knew they were looking at $8,000 for a sewing machine? Fabulous as they are, the high-end machines are, in the end. sewing machines. That is generally what we use them for 90% of the time. I think they are like our computers. We use them for our basic needs. Few of us know how to use the wonders of our computers. I would love to hear the sales pitch the convinces us to pay that for a sewing machine. Just saying.

I don't think they do but the last time I was in the store where I purchased my JOURNEY the list on the Destiny was $15,000.00 Although with trading in my Journey he would give me a "deal". He did give me a great deal with my journey. Don't be afraid dicker.

Try a google search, just type in what you are looking for, for example "babylock destiny 2 price" and scroll down to see the results.
this is what I found:. Also did a similar search for Janome's top of the line machine and Janome lists the MSRP on the website. http://janome.com/en/machines/embroidery/mc15000/ https://www.google.com/search?biw=1280&bih=569&ei=fFIqWsXbJsP8jwOhzKiQAw& q=babylock+destiny+2+price&oq=babylock+destiny+2+p rice&gs_l=psy-ab.3..35i39k1.125575.133308.0.134333.18.18.0.0.0.0 .180.2813.0j17.17.0....0...1.1.64.psy-ab..1.17.2808...0j0i7i30k1j0i13k1j0i7i10i30k1j0i8i 7i30k1j0i30k1j0i8i30k1.0.drQStRoyeMs |
