Babylock question: Which stitch looks like hand quilting?
I looked at all my stitches and could not see anything that looked like hand quilting.
I know you are suppose to use clear thread in the top and regular thread in the bobbin. Has anyone else tried this stitch? |
the stitch you describe can be done on any machine. the trick is in the tension settings. the top tension has to be set tight so that the bobbin thread is drawn to the top. you might want to make note of your normal tensions before you start experimenting.

Babylock has a Sashiko machine that only uses bobbin so it looks exactly like a hand stitch on top. On back it's a running stitch though. Of course, that's the only stitch that machine does and it retails for around 2k, but it sure does that stitch well. |
Not sure which Baby Lock you have but on my Serenade the 'hand quilt' stitch is A-02. If you look in your manual it should tell you. it really doesn't look like a hand stitch to me but have used it on small projects.

I went online and found the manual for my machine. It's Q-04. I tried it with black thread in the bottom and white on top and the black thread did not show on top.
I guess I need to play around with it some more. Thanks for all the suggestions, I appreciate it. |
