The library closest (2 miles) only has Quilters Newsletter (Are there any that don't start with the letter Q?) and you can check them out for 7 days, so I'll be going thru 2 years worth this coming week. After that, I'll check out the next closest library (7 miles).

I also checked out the new book from the author that wrote "The Last Lecture" and it's called "The Girls From Ames". It follows the friendship of 11 women through their 40 years of friendship. Wasn't even out of the introduction and I was misty eyed.

From his research and discussions with women on enduring female bonds he wrote..."They believed their friendships thrived because they raised some expectations and lowered others. They had come to expect loyalty and good wises from each other, but not constant attention."

How awesome to get all of those magazines and such an inspiring book, too :D :D :D

He co-authored the book with Randy Pausch. He was also the reporter that had attended the last lecture and wrote the article about it.... which then lead to the book.

Hi Lainee, did you enjoy the Girls from Ames ? I decided to get it out of the library & take it with me to retreat next weekend.

I was a very good read and 3 or 4 women that I know from this area all are on waiting lists for the book at their library's. Be sure to have hankies handy.
