Background Quilting Question
I am quilting the background of my blue horse quilt. I am going to do the background in vertical lines.
Should the lines be made with a foot, making them very precise, or free motion, following drawn lines, but making them look more organic? Almost finished! Thanks for your comments, Watson |
If you like the precision and you can accomplish it do that...but if you might wobble do organic.

I did this fundraiser and started the lines without a guide. I thought I was making a mistake, but when it was done, I thought it looked good.

That does look good and is pretty much what I'm going for. Did you do this with a foot or free motion?

You could do it either way to get that look, but if I were doing the quilting I'd do FMQ so I could do it without having to turn the quilt.

I am agreeing with Rob.....like the idea of not having to turn the quilt.

I much prefer FMQ.
