I agree with Maggie Sue; use the sashing material as your backing.

You all have given me lots to think about. I hadn't even thought about thread color.
This is going to my DIL. Her favorite color is red so I have been wondering if a dark red would be too much for the backing. I like the suggestion of using it for the binding though.

What a lovely quilt! I'd go with a batik that has all of the same colors. We sold wide batik backings in the store I used to work in and they were just beautiful. The right one would really compliment your top.

I think any color that u like that is on the front would work. Also consider a completely different back, the use a two sided binding, then u would have a reversible quilt. Your top is beautiful.

I would go with either a neutral or a medium blue picked up from the blocks. It's a lovely quilt!! You've done a great job so far!!

And the decision is??????

My first choice would be the light brown you have in your sashing. A blue would also be pretty. Beautiful quilt!

Red was my first thought. A burgundy flannel would be oh-so-cozy.
