I have a Brother 1600 on Grace Quilting Pro wooden frame. I can't seem to do anything but stipple and the bigger the quilt the less space to quilt. I am looking at maybe getting a Pro 17.
Does anyone know if it will work on my Grace Frame? I can't afford a fancy longarm, just want to make feathers and do a little fancier work. If anyone has a Bailey Pro 15 or 17 I would really appreciate the insite before I bite the bullet. |

i have the 15" bailey on a gmq pro frame
go to the baileyshomequilter yahoo group, you can see what frames they have the 17" on |
When you say Grace Quilting Pro, do you mean GMQ Pro? Is it one of their older frames?
I had a Bailey 15" on a Little Gracie II frame, and it fit, but I would not have gone up to a 17" -- it would have been wasted space, because the quilting space on the frame itself is only so big. I don't think a machine that size would have fit on the carriage, either. But it depends on if your frame is bigger than the LG II frame or not -- I have a Pinnacle now, and a 17" would fit fine. |
Check with the Gracie Frame site; you need to not only check the max throat size you frame can handle but also the weight; I've been told most people forget about the weight and then they have problems

You can make any frame work if you have enough will. I put my baileys 15 on a Older Gammill frame. Gammill machines come with wheels on the sewing machine, so this was a little challenge but we managed. Works great! Good luck with your Baileys. Join that yahoo group that was mentioned, they've been a great help for me.

i'm hoping for a bailey 17, but a 15 would probably fit my needs/pocketbook better. i have a hinterberg stretch frame with a juki now

How does a Grace Carriage support a Bailey 17E? Is this machine too large?
