I have a chance to pick up a Baily's 13" machine to replace my Janome 1600 for the throat space. Does anyone have an opinion on this machine. I need to decide quickly.

Quilt-
yes I tried baileys machine and had all kinds of problems with it, broke needles and tension was bad, and sent it back to em and they said nothin was wrong with it. Well they didnt mention anything about adjusting the tension, i sent the machine back, and they didnt even want to give my money back!
so you go where you can use one, and ask lots of questions, dont go into it blind like i did, and find out the hard way its a piece of @#$%!
good luck

you might want to check out the yahoo group for bailey's. there are a lot of happy owners there.

I don't think you can use the Bailey's for piecing ... just FMQ, just in case you wanted to do both.

Thanks for the info. This one is used and I'm nervous about it. It really isn't the machine I want but the price is right.
