We just received the bamboo quilt batting. Has anyone used it yet? Would like your input on it, I usually use the natural cotton, and am curious about this new kind.

I have recently used bamboo batting in two quilts and LOVE IT! It does not lint like cotton and you don't get the static like you do from cotton.

I used Maxi Lock thread in bobbin and needle on one quilt and Aurifil on the other and both gave good stitch definition. After washing I found the bamboo doesn't shrink as much as cotton.

Also, you can fold bamboo batting and leave it folded. When you lay out the quilt and fold marks come out in about an hour sometimes sooner.

I believe I'll be using bamboo in place of cotton for my batting.

My friend who does machine quilting for me said it was wonderful to quilt. That's all I know about it.

I've just used some and must admit I'm really impressed too. It's lovely and soft, it's thin but apparently still very warm, and easy to use.

Personally... for hand quilting...it's fine to quilt through but seems very limp in the finished project..... I still have more... so may try using it up with machine quilted projects.

I haven't used it yet but had a "feel" at a store a while ago. I think I will try it...I am a "greenie" so choosing bamboo is a very sustainable, enviro friendly way to go. Will be interesting to see if it catches on and becomes popular.

I have used it quite a lot. I buy the biggest batt they have when it is on sale at Joanns at 50% off. I can usaully get at least 4 Linus quilts out of one king size. I like it for handquilting as well as anything else I have used.
