I have been trying very hard to always wear shoes since I found out I was diabetic. Yesterday, my huband laughed at me because I would take off my houseshoe to sew, slip it back on to go to the ironing board, take it back off to sew...
I think, because, when my mom finally let me on her sewing machine the summer I turned eight, I was always running around barefoot. I've tried to sew with shoes on, but it just didn't feel right.

Barefoot. I'm well aware of the risks, but I prefer the additional flexibility of using my toes on the pedal and also the information I can get from my feet that I would miss with the shoes.

I've also kicked off my shoes at workshops, and learned not to wear lace up shoes/boots to classes (takes to much time to remove them).

We do this at my house also and I sew with bare or sock feet. I find it much more comfortable.

I always sew barefoot. For me it's more comfortable.

Never even thought about it, but I can't machine sew with anything but a sock on my right foot.

As a rule I sew in socks or barefoot. I only wear shoes when I am going to town or going to be walking in the woods or somewhere with gravel that will hurt my feet like the driveway.

I sew without shoes too. When my mom's friend came for a visit, they sewed together and her friend sewed barefoot. Mom always has slippers on and thought it was really strange. She mentioned it to me and I said I do the same thing. Apparently, there are lots of us barefoot quilters/sewers!
