There's a tutorial I think in that section of this group.

There is an entire virtual section on this board just for Bargello's. Go to the Home page, click on "All User Defined Sections" (toward the bottom) and you should see the Bargello section.

Here is a quick link for you:

Best of luck!

Thanks so much. I'm new to this quilting board, & to the computer..so I'm have a little trouble getting around on both.

68 and trying to learn how to get around on a computer, it's Hard! but I'll keep trying.

I love the look of a Bargello quilt, thanks for the showing me where to look for info on this.........

Bargello quilts are not hard. You just have to keep of the colors.

Bargellos are fun. Try one. You will be hooked.

Bargello is fun and can can be quick assembly if the piece size isn't too small. To keep track of the strips, I hang them on one of those portable drying racks with plenty of rods and pin the strip number to the top.

We are never to young to learn new things. I admire your willingness to venture out and do it. Please don't be shy if you have a question. We have no way to know how many others are reading the question and answers and were to shy to ask the question but had the same need to know.
I haven't made a Bargello yet but it is on my wish list. Good luck to you. /Regards, Dorothy

Thanks for your reply.... Yes it is hard to try and learn how to use a computer and make fancy quilts all at once.I'm use to making easy quilts that the kids and grandkids use and use. Mine are not fancy just useable.

After looking at all the beautiful quilts on this forum I have decided that I want to make one of them.

So I am on a roll to try a bargello quilt.

Thanks again for your reply.

I was hesitant to make my first ... I just could not "get" the sewing the strips in a tube ... and then "un-sewing" . BUT once I tried it I LOVED it ... its really not hard and can go pretty quickly. There are some complicated bargello patterns . Do a easy one first to get the method and confidence ... but you will be hooked, And come up with your own patterns in no time.
I hung a dowel for my first to help keep me organized . It is a bit of a different method so just take it step by step. I have made about 8 quilts and many many jackets using the method.
Once you get going look up a pattern called Twisted Bargello by Chris Timmins, its been out for several years and every one I have seen made in no matter what colors is beautiful.

Thanks
I'm getting very excited about starting my first Bagello quilt.
I'll look up the twisted Bagello quilt also and see what that is like.

I'm not real good picking out fabric for quilts, I usually just go to the resale shop and get shirts and cut them up for my quilts or sometimes I use mens suits, they make a nice warm quilt. all my quilts are used a lot to keep warm, in this house there not just to look at. .

The Bagello quilt will be for our bed and I want something pretty.
I'll just try to pick out colors from light to dark and that should work.
How long did it take you to do your first one?
Thanks for the reply :-D
