My barn quilt would incorporate a Nine-Patch in honor of my Grandmother. It was her favorite block to make.
|
I would do a Bears Paw Block since we live close to the Smoky Mountains. We even had a bear in our area several years ago.

Here is a link to a site with pictures of different blocks. |
Jacobs Ladder, because my sons name is Jacob.
|
I'd do the OREGON block because this is where I live! (Someday hope to make one for our shed.)

I'd put a Churn Dash up. I reall like that block. Furthermore it would be kind of fun putting a "hole in the barndoor" on a barn.
Anyway, I think a simple design works best as it still has great visual impact from a distance. |
I am trying to decide which one I want to do also. I don't have a barn but I would like to put one on the front of my house.
Wouldn't it be cool if all quilters put one on their homes. It says "A quilter lives here!" |

I've also modified a "Road to........." block that I hope to do for our neighborhood church's storage barn. It will be brown to represent road, dark red to represent houses and green to represent trees. |
