I don"t have a barn or a shed so I made a carpenters star to hang on my patio. I cut it out of fabric and glued it on to a white board. I covered it with about 6 coats of clear acrylic and hung it out there. So far it is still looking good. It has been hanging out there only a year in a spot where it rarely gets wet.

I live in a small farming town in Indiana. My garage is the last piece of the old Keck-Gonnerman Steam Engine factory that is left. It is a HUGE 2 story, cinder-block building that is well over 2 stories tall and faces the highway that runs through the town. I've really been considering putting an 8'X 8' Indiana Puzzle block in the front. Don't have a DH so I'd have to hire someone to attach it to the cinder block building. Hmmm....

I love lots of color; so it would probably be a Dresden Plate or a Grandmother's Flower Garden.
My county began a barn quilt committee last August. They operate through the local Extension Service. At this date, there are 53 quilt blocks hung and another 10 contracts signed. I have enjoyed them so much! My husband and I travel around the state taking pictures of them which I post on my Facebook page. We love them. |
